Tier Explanation

S Tier: Absolute playoff contenders. Barring multiple injuries or across-the-board talent declines these teams will still be playing in October.

A Tier: Playoff contenders, but may be bumped off by another good team in their division or by a difficult wildcard race. These are also teams that may not be able to weather one or two big injuries.

B Tier: Teams that will need a lucky break or a big trade to move into playoff contention. But many of these teams are up and coming.

C Tier: Teams that will struggle to make it to .500 ball. A few of these teams are waiting on prospects to develop, others are still building to compete in a few years.

D Tier: Teams that will not even get within range of a .500 winning percentage. However, these are the teams that are quietly stockpiling future superstars.
